The U.S. Postal Service has recently announced a partnership with Trekaroo.com, a travel site for parents looking for kid-friendly destinations, lodging and activities. Trekaroo is offering “My Passport”, a feature where travelers can collect stamps for a virtual passport that mark what states they have been in. The stamps will be images of the “Greetings From” postcard series issued by the USPS in 2006. This is a fun way to keep track of one’s travels as well as gaining a better appreciation for a popular stamp set.
Why stop there though? A good way to help your young ones learn about America and begin their stamp collections could be to offer stamps depicting the places you visit, or perhaps a scavenger hunt similar to the “license plate game” or even a bingo game. What other ideas do you have for mixing travel and philately?
