Once you have found the country of origin and checked for any watermarks or differences in perforation, you can identify your stamps catalog number. Most stamp collectors use Scott Publication catalog numbers to identify their stamps. (Often written as Scott #...) To find your catalog number, look for your stamps illustration under it's country heading. Underneath the illustration should be a list of varieties of the stamp pictured. Using the information gathered, find your stamps variety and catalog number. You may now place your stamp in it's proper place in your album.
