Description
Guide Review - 2008 Brookman U.S. and Canada Stamps and Postal CollectiblesFirst published in 1934, the Brookman Price List of United States stamps has been a respected guide for pricing United States stamp issues for over 70 years. Like other catalogs, the 2008 Brookman price guide includes United States, Canada, U.S. Possessions, and Trust Territories issues. What makes the catalog unique is the additional sections pricing first day covers, souvenir pages, and autographs.
Following Scott's Numbering System, the 2008 Brookman price guide is an easy to use guide with thousands of stamp illustrations. A good identifier of stamps for the beginner or intermediate collector, the 2008 Brookman price guide has been a staple price guide for collectors and dealers for many years. Intermediate and more advance collectors may wish to stray away from this catalog as a go to guide for stamp identification, as not all stamp varieties are listed and the guide gives little detailed information. In addition, the black and white images can make finding a particular issue a little harder than a full-color catalog. For the price, $28.95, the 2008 Brookman catalog is a good representation of current market values. However, if you are more interested in a stamp identifier, there may be better options at or around the same price range. |
