Electrotype
A method of copying dies that involves taking a mold and covering it in copper.
Elusive
A hard to find stamp that is not considered rare or scarce.
Embossed Stamp
A Stamp that is printed so all or part of its design is raised above the paper surface. Commonly found on pre-stamped envelopes.
Engraving
Printing method that uses an etched or cut metal plate to print a stamp design.
Entire
Postal stationery, such as an envelope, wrapper or postcard, left completely intact.
Envelope Stamp
A stamp printed directly onto an envelope.
Error
A stamp printed with a mistake, such as the wrong design, color, perforations, or over-print. Most error stamps are unknowingly issued by the post office.
Expertize
To give an opinion on the genuineness of a postage stamp.
Express Mail
The prompt delivery of a package or letter. Special denominated stamps are often issued for express mail purposes.
