Illustrator Kam Mak designed this stamp commemorating the Year of the Ox, the lunar year running from January 26, 2009 to February 13, 2010. Traditionally the Ox is seen to represent positive characteristics such as responsibility, industriousness, intelligence and practicality, as well as negative traits like stubbornness and intolerance. This stamp is the second issue in the Lunar New Year series which began in 2008 with the Year of the Rat issue.
