Hawaii 50th Anniversary of Statehood Stamp

Hawaii is the 50th state to be admitted to the United States and it celebrates 50 years of statehood (along with Alaska) this year. This stamp depicts two traditional Hawaiian activities, surfing with a long board and outrigger canoing. Among other fascinating geographical facts, Hawaii is the only state where coffee is grown. Hawaii is known as a vacation spot of beautiful beaches and tropical forests. It is a volcanic island chain with many active volcanoes including Kilaeua.
