Canadians in Hollywood Set of Four ©2008 Canada Post. All rights reserved.
Just like in a Hollywood movie, a good sequel is sure to get the public talking. And stamp collectors are sure to find something exciting to say about Canada Post's latest release in the Canadians in Hollywood Series. Designed by John Belisle and Kosta Tsetsekas of Signals Design and painted by Neal Armstrong, this set of four stamps features paintings of Hollywood greats Marie Dressler, Raymond Burr, Norma Shearer and Cheif Dan George. Each colorful design showcases the actor or actress in a background scene related to their career. Dressler's issue illustrates the tugboat from Tugboat Annie; Burr's showcases the Perry Mason courtroom; Shearer's an art deco scene; and George's a scene from Little Big Man. Buying this issue is like buying a ticket to the hey days of Hollywood. With cancels featuring a bag of popcorn and soft drink, movie goers and stamp collectors are sure to feel as though they just sat down in the Fox theater to watch Dinner at Eight or The Wanters.
