On March 11, 2008, Great Britain's Royal Mail celebrated Northern Ireland by issuing a set of four stamps featuring images of Northern Ireland and St. Patrick's Day. This issue is the third in a series that celebrates the countries that make up the United Kingdom with Scotland having been featured in 2006 and England in 2007. There are four stamps on a sheet: two at the 1st class definitive rate that feature images of Northern Ireland's Giant's Causeway and Carrickfergus Castle and two stamps at the long-format 78p rate featuring an image of St. Patrick by Clare Melinsky and Belfast's Queen's Bridge. The stamps can currently be purchased from Great Britain's website as a miniature sheet, a beautifully illustrated presentation pack, and a set of five stamped cards.
