Stamp collecting and the philatelic world has been revitalized in recent years by technology and social networking. From Facebook and Twitter for the exchange of information, to websites for stamp collectors to hang out and shoot the bull with others, the Internet continues to be very user friendly as far as stamp and postal history collectors are concerned. All in all, the staid and traditional hobby has been pretty good in efforts to meet the challenges of the future.
One of the latest to arrive on Facebook is the International Society of Worldwide Stamp Collectors. Among the benefits of membership are exchange and buying/selling stamp circuits, a newsletter, 3-4 auctions a year, guidance for young collectors as well as the peace of mind knowing that they are affiliated with great groups like the American Topical Association and the American Philatelic Society.
