If you know anyone who has contributed to the world of stamp collecting and philately, the National Postal Museum wants to hear from you. But mum's the word. Your nominee cannot know that you have nominated him/her for the 2013 Smithsonian Philatelic Achievement Awards.
From the NPM website: "The achievements can include original research that significantly advances our understanding of philately and postal history; exceptional service to the philatelic community, and, the overall promotion of philately for the benefit of current and future collectors."
Do a write up of between 500-1,000 words of your nominee's lifetime contribution to philately and send it off to Smithsonian Philatelic Achievement Award Nominating Committee, National Postal Museum, Box 37012, MRC-570, Washington DC 20013-7012.
Nominations must be submitted by Sept 1, so your speed is required.
