Highly recommended is a wide ranging blog by Adrian Keppel, in the service of the U.K.'s Stamp Magazine.
Check out his entries concerning covers from the Arabian Gulf, an area whose ongoing upheaval also translates into collector interest in its philately and postal history.
Also, one of his more interesting posts is one from February that pairs the singing star Kate Bush with stamps featuring the Abominable Snowman. Sounds like a stretch, but after you read Keppel's post it makes perfect sense. And that's no snow job.
