New Stamps for a New Year
Saturday October 25, 2008
The changing of the seasons is well upon us. The holiday season is rapidly approaching and soon the new year will be upon us. A sign of this change has recently been issued by the U.S. Postal Service with the preview of the first of the 2009 Commemoratives. The first few months of the year will see new issues celebrating states, schools and heroes of the Civil Rights movement, as well as the Year of the Ox. Edgar Allan Poe, master of horror and the macabre, will have a stamp celebrating the 200th anniversary of his birth. For those looking to “spook up” their Halloween, there is not much better than reading one of Poe’s spine-chilling masterpieces.
Remember to check back for more information on the latest USPS releases and other new and exciting stamps.
