Canada's Game Comes Home

The International Ice Hockey Federation World Championship will be held for the first time in Canada as the federation marks its 100th anniversary. Originated in Canada, ice hockey has become one of the most recognized sports around the world and Canada is known the world over as a country of excellence in the sport. This year Team Canada hopes to bring home the gold as it competes with the world's best hockey teams in Halifax and Quebec City from May 2nd through the 18th. Canada Post features both host cities on two separate stamp booklets and first day covers. In addition, Team Canada is highlighted with a comic-book style stamp design that is sure to capture the eyes of stamp collectors and hockey fans alike.
