Celebrate St. Patrick's Day with Stamps!
Monday March 17, 2008
This St. Patrick's Day, many Americans are celebrating the unofficial holiday with good old fashion get togethers and a little drinking. However, many of us who have children look for alternatives to the celebration that are more family friendly. This year why not start a new tradition by introducing your child to the world of stamp collecting? A quick visit to the local hobby shop will allow you to purchase everything you need to get started. And with a little help, you will quickly be able to identify the stamps you just purchased. Once you have all your stamps identified, you and your little ones can take the time to properly mount your stamps in your new stamp album. To add a little Irish flair to your collection, find stamp issues with an Irish theme or that have been produced by An Post, the postal authority in Ireland. Expanding your collection, will be a fun and educational tradition that you and your child will enjoy for years to come. And why stop at St. Patrick's Day, when Easter isn't that far off?
